Terms and Conditions

Interactive Website (“we”, “us”, “the Agency”) · East London, United Kingdom · info@interactivewebsite.co.uk · https://www.interactivewebsite.co.uk

Version 1.0 · Effective from 24 September 2026

These terms and conditions explain how we work with you when you order website design, SEO or support services from Interactive Website.

1. Who these terms are between

1.1 These terms apply between Interactive Website and the person or business placing an order (“you”, “the Client”). They cover the supply of a ready-made website or the build of a bespoke website and, where ordered, the initial search engine optimisation (“Initial SEO”) package.

1.2 By ticking “I accept the Terms & Conditions and the Website Build Agreement” on our order page you enter a binding contract on these terms. You are taken to the payment page only after that acceptance is recorded.

1.3 We record the date, time and IP address of your acceptance and the version of both documents, and we email a copy to you and to us at the same moment.

2. What you are buying

2.1 Ready-made website. Where the order is for one of our ready-made sites, you buy the design, page structure, copy framework and the domain name stated in the offer, transferred to hosting in your name.

2.2 Bespoke build. Where the order is for a bespoke site, the pages, features and number of revision rounds are those described in the package you order or in our written proposal.

2.3 Initial SEO means on-page and technical setup: page titles and meta descriptions, heading structure, image alt text, an XML sitemap, robots.txt, Google Business Profile setup or claim, Google Search Console and analytics setup, schema markup, and submission for indexing.

2.4 Initial SEO is not an ongoing ranking campaign, link building or content marketing, unless separately ordered.

3. Rankings — what we do and do not promise

3.1 We do not guarantee any particular position in Google or any other search engine, and we do not promise a specific volume of traffic, enquiries or sales. Search rankings are controlled by third parties whose algorithms we do not influence.

3.2 Any traffic, enquiry or revenue figures in an offer, audit, valuation or proposal are estimates based on stated assumptions, given for illustration. They are not a forecast, warranty or representation of fact and must not be relied on as such.

3.3 Rankings take time to establish. Where we quote a timescale it is an expectation, not a commitment.

4. Price and payment

4.1 Prices are in pounds sterling.

4.2 For orders placed on our website, the price shown at checkout is payable in full at checkout. For bespoke projects agreed by written proposal, payment is 50% on acceptance and 50% on completion, before the site goes live on your domain, unless the proposal says otherwise.

4.3 Work starts when payment has cleared and you have supplied the items in the Client Brief (clause 5).

4.4 Late payment of a due invoice may result in work being paused. We may charge statutory interest and a fixed recovery sum under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 on overdue business-to-business invoices.

4.5 Third-party costs — domain renewal after the first year, hosting, premium plugins, stock images, paid directory listings — are either stated in your order or recharged at cost with your prior approval.

5. What we need from you

5.1 After payment you receive a Client Brief by email listing everything we need. Nothing can be built or transferred until it arrives.

5.2 You are responsible for the accuracy, ownership and legality of all material you supply, including text, logos, images, trade marks and any claims made about your products or services.

5.3 You confirm you hold the rights to everything you send us. If a third party claims otherwise, you are responsible for that claim and agree to reimburse costs we reasonably incur as a direct result.

5.4 If we do not receive the brief material within 30 days of payment, we may treat the project as paused and re-schedule it into the next available slot.

6. Revisions, approval and go-live

6.1 Your package states how many rounds of revisions are included (two, unless stated otherwise). Further rounds are charged at our standard hourly rate.

6.2 A stage is treated as approved when you confirm in writing, or after 10 working days from us asking for sign-off with no response.

6.3 We will not put the site live until payments due at that point are settled.

7. Ownership and licence

7.1 You own the content you supply. On receipt of payment in full you own the finished design and page content of your site, and the domain is transferred to you where the order includes it.

7.2 We keep ownership of our underlying tools, frameworks, code libraries, templates and know-how. You receive a non-exclusive licence to use those elements as part of your site.

7.3 Unless you ask us in writing not to, we may show the finished site in our portfolio.

8. Hosting, maintenance and security

8.1 Hosting, maintenance, backups, plugin updates and security monitoring are not included unless your order says so.

8.2 Where we do not host or maintain the site, we are not responsible for downtime, data loss, hacking or breakage caused by updates, other suppliers, or changes made by you or anyone else after handover.

8.3 We recommend an ongoing care plan. Without updates, a WordPress site becomes a security risk over time.

9. Cancellation and the 14-day right to cancel

9.1 If you are a consumer (an individual buying outside a business), you have the right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 to cancel within 14 days of entering the contract, without giving a reason.

9.2 If you ask us to start work during that 14-day period and then cancel, you must pay for what has already been done. If the service is fully performed within the 14 days with your express agreement, the right to cancel is lost.

9.3 To cancel, email info@interactivewebsite.co.uk within the period. Refunds due are made within 14 days of us being told.

9.4 If you are a business, the statutory 14-day right does not apply. Work already done is payable.

9.5 We may end the contract if you do not pay, do not supply the brief material within 90 days, or ask us to do something unlawful.

10. Liability

10.1 Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.

10.2 Subject to 10.1, our total liability in connection with the contract is limited to the total fees you have paid us under it.

10.3 Subject to 10.1, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of anticipated savings, loss of goodwill, loss of rankings, or any indirect or consequential loss.

10.4 We are not liable for failure caused by events outside our reasonable control, including third-party platform, hosting or search engine changes.

11. Data protection

11.1 Each party will comply with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

11.2 Where we process personal data on your behalf (for example enquiry form submissions on your site), we do so on your documented instructions and apply appropriate technical and organisational measures.

11.3 Our privacy notice is published at https://www.interactivewebsite.co.uk/privacy-policy/.

12. Complaints, law and jurisdiction

12.1 Please raise any complaint with us first at info@interactivewebsite.co.uk. We aim to respond within 5 working days.

12.2 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

13. General

13.1 Your order, the Website Build Agreement and these terms are the entire agreement between us and replace any earlier discussion or proposal.

13.2 If any clause is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.

13.3 We may update these terms for future orders. The version you accepted governs your order.
